Although ballet was born in Italy and perfected in Russia. It was given personality and movement in Cuba. The Alonso method brought a whole new meaning to ballet. Fernando and Alicia Alonso were the founders of Ballet Nacional de Cuba, which has brought us such greats as Alicia Alonso and Carlos Acosta. For now, we don’t know what the outcome will be in Cuba, but it’s things like ballet, music, art and sports that give people hope for a better future.
